24/7 Emergency Linux Support & Outage Triage

Rapid diagnosis and recovery support for mission-critical production incidents.

When a production server becomes unreachable, a database or web service fails, or a filesystem runs out of space, downtime can disrupt critical operations. OS Assistance provides prioritized triage for accepted Linux emergency requests.

An experienced Linux engineer reviews the reported impact, investigates likely failure points, checks available backup and recovery options, and proceeds with approved diagnostic or remediation steps. Response means acknowledgment and diagnostic kickoff; it is not a resolution guarantee.

24/7 emergency request intake · Accepted P1 initial-response targetsUnder 1 hour during weekday service hours; under 2 hours after hours and weekends. Requests depend on engineer availability, acceptance, covered systems, and approved scope.

COMMON EMERGENCIES WE TRIAGE

Find the failure point. Agree on the recovery steps.

We investigate the operating system and service layer, confirm what can be safely changed, and keep you informed before approved remediation proceeds.

01

Server unreachable

Investigate instances that fail to boot, lose network connectivity, or no longer accept SSH. Recovery depends on provider access, console availability, and system state.

Boot · network · SSH
02

Service & database crashes

Triage stopped, hung, or repeatedly failing Nginx, Apache, PHP-FPM, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Plesk services.

Web stack · databases · control panels
03

Filesystem & disk crises

Investigate full or read-only filesystems, high disk use, and volume capacity. Log cleanup, filesystem repair, or resizing follows review, authorization, and recovery planning.

Root disk · filesystems · volumes
04

Package & dependency failures

Diagnose DNF or APT transaction locks, interrupted package operations, dependency conflicts, and kernel update or boot issues.

DNF · APT · kernel recovery

COMMON QUESTIONS

Emergency support FAQ.

What does the 1–2 hour response target mean?

For accepted P1 requests, the target is under 1 hour during weekday service hours and under 2 hours after hours and weekends. It means initial acknowledgment and diagnostic kickoff, not a resolution or recovery deadline.

Can I submit an emergency request 24/7?

Yes. Request intake is available 24/7. After-hours response targets apply to accepted P1 emergency requests and depend on confirmed engineer availability, covered systems, and approved scope.

How much does emergency support cost?

The initial diagnostic hour is $199/hour for active Linux Care members or $249/hour for non-members. Additional work requires your approval and is billed separately at the applicable rate.

Does payment guarantee service restoration?

No. Payment covers the initial diagnostic hour. Investigation may identify options without resolving the underlying issue; recovery depends on system condition, available backups, provider access, and approved work.

What information should I send?

Include your contact details, server and provider information, Linux version, current symptoms, time started, recent changes, and business impact. Do not send passwords, SSH private keys, or cloud credentials.
